2013/2014 Membership Information

Membership forms for the 2013/2014 season can be accessed here.

Note: Online application will be coming later in July. Using the online system will ensure that your fees are calculated properly, and also that all information reaches the league reps in the fastest manner possible. For the first year, the online system will still require that you print out the confirmation page and mail that in along with your credit card information or a cheque (no payment will be accepted online).

2013/2014 Membership Information – What you need to know

Time to Register
Applications and payment of fees are due on or before Tuesday, August 27, 2013 for returning Members. If you are a Returning Member applying after August 27, 2013 an additional fee of $40.00 will be required. Applications from New Members will be considered commencing September 10th, 2013 from the waiting lists. New Member Applicants will be placed on the waiting list on a first come, first served basis. Therefore, it is important to get your application and payment information in promptly. Payments will not be processed until there is confirmation of acceptance.

How To Register
Membership packages will be mailed on July 17th, 2013. You can register by mail to 901 Cosburn Avenue, Toronto, M4C 2W7, fax to 416-396-2818, e-mail to eastyorkcurling @ rogers.com or by using the secure mailbox located on the door of the Club facing on Cosburn Avenue. Accepted forms of payment are cheque, Visa and Mastercard. Cheques are made out to East York Curling Club. Payments received may not be processed until as late as early October, 2013.
Little Rocks/Bantam/Juniors: please include your birth date, parents name and email address on the Application Form.

If you do NOT want your telephone phone numbers and/or e-mail listed in the Club Directory, Spare list or your Personal Information released to the OCA, indicate by checking the NO box at the bottom of the Membership Form.

Due Date
If your application & payment has not been received by the due date, your requests for league play will
be put in priority sequence by the date received by the Club. Upon approval, you will be placed in a league.

Full Membership
Once your application form is completed and approved, you will be considered a member and placed on a
team. The number of weeks played in a season will be dependent upon events hosted at the Club, snow
days and emergency closings. Members cannot transfer their membership to another individual.

Teams of More Than 4
Should you choose to have more than 4 members on your team, all players must pay full membership fees applicable to the section.

Formation of Teams
Any team of less than 4 players may be assigned a person on the waiting list at the discretion of the Board. Should a vacancy occur on a team during the season, a person on the waiting list with appropriate experience will fill the vacancy at the league reps discretion.

Pro-rating Section Fees
Joining a league part-way through the season, will result in a pro-rated fee to be determined by the Management and Board.

Bye or Rotation System
In the event that your chosen league is full, a bye or rotation system to an alternate night may occur. In a bye system, a team would not play a particular week depending upon the number of teams registered. In a rotation system, a team would be scheduled to play on another designated night in rotation during the season.

Lockers
The lockers will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Each member can only apply for ONE locker. Members can either use their own lock or use the Club lock on the locker. If you are using your own lock, please return the Club lock on the locker back to staff . At the end of the season, please leave the club lock in your locker when you clear out your belongings. You may obtain your locker at the Open House or later.

Office Information
As of August 12, 2013, the office will be open at various hours to accept registrations. Starting
September 3rd, 2013 regular office hours will be 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday. During the season, evenings and weekends, the Staff on duty will be happy to assist you. To book a rental, practice ice or a make-up game, you must call the office during regular hours.

Withdrawals, Refunds, and Credits
All cancellations/withdrawals must be initiated, and followed in writing, prior to the third day of curling in their regularly scheduled league. No refunds or credits will be considered after this date. Consideration will be made for personal injury or re-location. Withdrawals will be pro-rated based upon the date the Withdrawal/Refund Request Form is received by the Office, not based on attendance in the program. A $25 administration fee will be deducted per person, per section for all refunds. Withdrawal/Refund requests must be submitted to the Office in writing and dated. You can contact the office for the appropriate form. Notice will take effect on the date it is received by the office. Refunds will only be applicable on the playing fee portion on the curling dues.

Club Closure
All efforts will be made to post any Club closure on the East York Curling Club website indicating the reason for the closure as soon as possible. As well, attempts will be made, when possible, to contact the Skip of each team affected by the closure. Leagues will follow up with their members to indicate how this cancelled game will affect the schedule.

Sparing in Sections
Fully paid Members of any EYCC league will be allowed to spare. Please indicate on your application Form, the league you are willing to spare in and check off the box indicating whether or not you want to be put on a password protected location on the web site.

Guest Sparing
Each league has the option to allow for guest players during league play. For each game played, guests must sign a guest waiver, pay a fee of $20.00/game and abide by the rules of the EYCC Club and specific leagues. Please cheque with each league to ensure guests are allowed to spare and what league specific rules must be followed.
